About Me

  S S Saywack is the award-winning author of the Mary Finch Mysteries (Mary Finch and the Thief, WINNER of the Wishing Shelf Book Award for Young Adults, and the Incipere Award (Entrada Publishing) for Clean YA Historical Fiction), and Inglestone Manor (WINNER of the Incipere Award (Entrada Publishing) for Children's book)

After a career as a Graphic Designer (leaving me with a love for typography) then an art teacher, I took to writing short stories, flash fiction (a number have been published on-line) and novels for middle-grade readers. I have a love of history - Victorian England and the early twentieth century in particular - as well as playing the guitar fairly well and the piano fairly badly (I do have kind neighbours!) I still create art and I love making prints, especially etchings. I live in the East End of London, a place well suited for my creation, Mary Finch, to explore and to have her adventures.
